PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Levis Police Department must provide the public with Level II protection services, as required by Ministère de la Sécurité publique, but was unable to accommodate the staff required to do so. It operated out of two different stations, one at 6900 boulevard Guillaume-Couture (patrolling) and the other at 1035 chemin du Sault (headquarters, administration, operations support and investigations). Due to the limited size of the premises, major upgrades could not be made to existing buildings. A single station adapted to the required level of service was required to centralize police operations.
To a certain extent, the Levis municipal court serves the same clientele as the police department. It implements the decisions rendered by the judges and requires police to be present when people in custody testify, are transported or appear before the court. For these reasons, the City wished to accommodate the municipal court and legal affairs in the same building.
